As an Appraiser, Field, you will evaluate vehicle damages in the field, at auto repair facilities, and remotely to determine reparability. You will work with and respond to internal and external customers, vendors, and other stakeholders. How you will create impact:
  • Create and review written damage appraisals in the field with stakeholders present, using damage repair expertise.
  • Source and determine the availability of parts, quantify loss to assess vehicle reparability, and research recommended repair processes.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients and claimants to schedule appraisal appointments, discuss repair procedures, methods, and communicate timelines.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders and build relationships throughout the claims process to discuss and approve repairs with vendors and clients, ensuring safe, quality repairs.
  • Provide exceptional client service in accordance with claims service and quality standards, aiming to position the organization as an industry leader in client engagement.

To join our team:
  • Possess 5 years of collision repair and estimating business or related experience.
  • Hold a post-secondary diploma.
  • Have or be willing to obtain the Autobody Repair Technician or Refinish Certification and the Physical Damage Appraiser Certificate.
  • Obtain the I-Car Platinum Certificate.
  • Have expert knowledge of vehicle construction and collision repair techniques and procedures.
  • Attain provincial appraiser licenses depending on the province of work.
What you need to know:
  • You need your own vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and insurance.
  • Regular travel is required.
  • Extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary.
  • Frequent movement, moderate exertion, and the ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs are required.
  • Potential exposure to conditions requiring health and safety protections, such as chemicals, noise, dust, and debris.
  • This role involves direct contact with clients and service providers in their environment.
  • You will undergo a background check as a condition of employment if selected.
