Job summary

Interac Corp. in Toronto is seeking an AppOps Analyst to ensure the stability and performance of mission-critical applications across cloud and on‑prem environments.

You will manage incident triage, changes, and releases while partnering with Development, Infrastructure, Network, and Business teams to drive reliability. The role requires strong Java/JEE, SQL, Oracle/DB2 experience and hands-on use of Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, CloudWatch, and AWS.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years in application support, production operations, SRE, or software development.
  • Strong knowledge of Java/JEE, REST APIs, Linux, SQL, and databases such as Oracle/DB2.
  • Experience with APM/Observability tools and AWS cloud services.
  • Understanding of containers, microservices, CI/CD, scripting, and ITIL processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Monitor health, performance, and incidents; perform triage and root-cause analysis.

Consistently ranked as Canada’s most reputable financial technology brand, Interac is deeply embedded in the daily lives of Canadians.Who You Will Work With:The vacant AppOps, Analyst role will report to the Leader, Interac Control Centre.The AppOps Analyst (Application Operations Analyst) is responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical applications and supporting infrastructure. This role provides end-to-end operational support across application, database, cloud, and platform environments, while driving incident resolution, service improvements, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will work closely with Development, Infrastructure, Network, and Business teams to support production systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and continuously improve service reliability through automation and process optimization.What You Will Do:Provide operational support and maintenance for Java/JEE applications, APIs, microservices, containerized applications, and cloud-native platforms.Monitor application health, availability, performance, reliability, and operational alerts using monitoring and observability platforms such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, CloudWatch, and related tools.Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across application, middleware, Linux, database, container, cloud, and network layers using logs, traces, metrics, diagnostics, and monitoring data.Perform incident triage, impact assessments, root cause analysis, and problem investigation to restore services and prevent recurring issues.Support and maintain workloads across AWS, hybrid cloud, and on-premises environments, including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, and supporting networking components.Analyze and troubleshoot database-related issues using Oracle and DB2, including writing complex SQL queries, reports, joins, and supporting query tuning and performance optimization activities.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Development, Infrastructure, Network, and Business stakeholders, to resolve complex technical issues and support production deployments.Participate in production releases and Change Management activities, including planning, risk assessment, implementation, validation, and post-implementation reviews, ensuring compliance with ITIL incident, change, release, and problem management processes.Document incidents, troubleshooting activities, resolutions, and operational procedures in a clear and concise manner.Develop and maintain operational documentation, including playbooks, knowledge base articles, runbooks, and support processes.Assist in the maintenance, tuning, and administration of monitoring, alerting, and reporting platforms to improve operational visibility and service reliability.Manage chronic, repeat, and aging incidents through proactive investigation, communication, and escalation management.Drive continuous improvement through automation, self-healing capabilities, and operational efficiency initiatives that reduce manual effort and improve service stability.Support and participate in projects, platform enhancements, technology upgrades, and other operational initiatives as required.Perform other related duties as assigned.What You Bring:University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum 2 years of experience in application support, production operations, site reliability engineering, or software development, preferably within Java-based environments.Strong knowledge of Java/JEE applications, REST APIs, Linux operating systems, SQL, and relational databases such as Oracle and DB2.Hands-on experience with SQL development, database troubleshooting, performance analysis, query tuning, and optimization.Experience with application performance monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, CloudWatch, or comparable platforms.Working knowledge of AWS cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, monitoring, and security services.Understanding of containerization technologies, cloud-native architectures, APIs, microservices, and networking fundamentals.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment processes, and release management practices.Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell for troubleshooting, task automation, and operational efficiency.Strong understanding of ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management processes.Experience supporting production releases, change implementations, incident response activities, and post-deployment validations.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively document technical procedures, incidents, and resolutions.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders in a fast-paced operational environment.Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting high-availability, high-volume, or mission-critical systems.Experience with automation, scripting, and operational efficiency initiatives.Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and operational automation tools.Experience working within hybrid cloud and enterprise production environments.Additional RequirementsMust be willing to work in 24x7 rotating shifts, on-call, including holidays & weekends.Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.What We’re Offering:The hiring range for this position is $65,000-$85,000 , and you will also be eligible for our short-term incentive plan.
