Job description

  • Obtaining and recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Coordinating daily administrative activities, including scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and maintaining medical records.
  • Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting practitioners with medical procedures and patient care.
  • Providing compassionate support and assistance to patients and families, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Handling phone calls, scheduling appointments, checking in patients, collecting necessary information, and ensuring completion of forms and consents.
  • Checking out patients, assisting with referrals, and arranging laboratory services.
  • Managing billing processes.
  • Preparing patients for examinations, taking vitals, and recording health histories.
  • Setting up EKG machines, administering injections and medications, and performing routine specimen collection and tests.
  • Preparing equipment and examination rooms, and cleaning instruments.
  • Assisting physicians with treatments, procedures, and exams.
  • Managing inventory of medical supplies and ensuring exam rooms are stocked.
  • Requirements

    • Certification from a medical assistant program or military medical corpsman program.
    • One to two years of experience in a medical setting.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
    • Understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding, and clinical pharmacology.
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
    • Familiarity with electronic medical records.
    • Effective communication skills and courteous manner.
    • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of clinical practices and administrative policies.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
