Job description

An exciting opportunity in application engineering in Automation and Robotics!

Agilus is recruiting for an Applications Engineer - Automation & Robotics in the Automation industry in a hybrid work environment in Mississauga, Ontario. The Applications Engineering/EIT position will be a crucial part of the Proposals and Applications team within our client’s Automation & Robotics division. This role includes planning, managing, and creating custom solutions in response to customer RFQ/RFPs. It will capitalize on your strong motivation, engineering problem-solving skills, project management capabilities, and business acumen.

Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinating, controlling, and developing detailed proposals in response to customer RFQ/RFPs
  2. Compliance with customer’s RFQ/RFP submission requirements and evaluation criteria
  3. Creating innovative concepts for Automation & Robotics
  4. Facilitating communication between internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers and resolving technical matters by collaborating with internal/external stakeholders
  5. Coaching and mentoring junior employees for their growth and development within the organization
  6. Maintaining and servicing specific customer accounts
  7. Responding to requests for quotations promptly and efficiently
Successful candidates will have:
  1. Bachelor of Engineering or Science or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems, or a related field
  2. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) eligible and registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario is preferred or registered EIT
  3. Minimum 3-5 plus years of Electrical or Mechanical Design or Applications Engineering
  4. Minimum three years of experience in proposals, applications, sales, and or business development
  5. Must have experience with SolidWorks
  6. Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical controls and integration of equipment (preferred)
  7. Must have a working knowledge of robotics, machine controls and manufacturing processes and be able to keep abreast of leading-edge technology
  8. Experience and working knowledge of most CSA and ASME standards
