Job description

Position Description:

This is a central and dynamic position within a regional diverse team overseeing US-based real-time payment applications connected to Fedwire and Chips. The team currently includes 6 members: 3 Java Developers, 2 Production Support Analysts, and your manager. You will gain exposure to both the business and technology aspects of our Payment team.

We collaborate with business partners to tackle complex challenges, creating value through our work. SQL and Java are tools to express our ideas. As part of a passionate FinTech team, we believe all members should understand the entire software development cycle and the business context.

One of the initial projects involves participating in a worldwide initiative to implement ISO20022 payment message format changes, involving financial institutions and large corporations.

This hybrid role offers the opportunity to wear multiple hats and expand your skillset. You will be mentored by our Lead Java Engineer to enhance your programming skills, facing new challenges daily—making this a rewarding environment for growth.

Technical Stack: JAVA, SQL, Python, Selenium, PowerShell, GIT, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Unix/Linux

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  1. Providing technical and functional support (Level 2 and 3) for Payment applications, resolving production issues, and reporting incidents.
  2. Developing automation applications and real-time monitoring tools.
  3. Performing post-deployment testing of new releases.
  4. Building and developing new features.
  5. Improving CI/CD practices and automating tasks.
  6. Communicating with stakeholders regarding application failures, documenting issues, and creating remediation plans.
  7. Understanding the regulated environment and ensuring compliance.
  8. Optimizing business procedures considering standards and ITIL processes.
  9. Participating in projects and transversal service tasks.
  10. Working on shift and on-call rotations, with occasional weekends.

Profile - Skills and Qualifications:

Competencies:

  • At least 3 years in Application Support, Production Support, or DevOps Support.
  • University degree in computer science, DEC, or equivalent certifications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment under pressure.
  • Customer relationship management skills.
  • Understanding of Agile and Continuous Delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Technical Must-Haves:

  • Experience with UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.
  • Desire to develop Java programming skills.
  • Experience in test-driven environments.

Bonus Skills:

  • Payments experience (SWIFT, Montran, Ach Plus, Fedwire, Chips).
  • IBM MQ Series knowledge.
  • Experience with real-time interface design.
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets and Investment Banking.

Languages: French and English. Ability to communicate effectively in English is required for collaboration with US colleagues and partners.
