About The Role
The Analyst, Application Portfolio & Governance, will review and provide recommendations on the organization’s application portfolio. The successful incumbent will analyze the performance, cost, and value of applications, ensure alignment with business goals, and recommend improvements or retirements of applications as necessary.
As The Newest Member Of Our Team, You’ll
- Conduct regular assessments of the application portfolio to identify redundancies, inefficiencies, and opportunities for consolidation.
- Assist in governance of the application portfolio and related artifacts and data.
- Collaborate with business units to understand their application needs for any applications that do not have a product owner and ensure the portfolio supports strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with Business Architects to identify applications to align with business capabilities.
- Work with Technology Operations teams to develop and maintain application inventory, including detailed documentation of each application's functionality, usage, and lifecycle status.
- Analyze application performance metrics and user feedback to recommend enhancements or decommissioning.
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to manage application costs and budget allocations while ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements across the application portfolio. Prepare and present reports on application portfolio status and recommendations to senior management.
- Maintain knowledge of current and emerging developments and trends for assigned areas of responsibility, assess the impact, and collaborate with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
- Direct and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned areas of responsibility.
To Succeed, You Bring
- A College diploma or bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 – 5 years of proven experience in application portfolio management, IT asset management, or a similar role, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Highly proficient with the Microsoft suite of applications: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, SharePoint.
- Experience with enterprise architecture tools such as Ardoq, Orbus, Avolution, Sparx, BizzDesign, or ServiceNow is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
- A self-starter with strong leadership qualities and project/task management skills, who is comfortable working with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of application lifecycle management and IT governance frameworks.
