Job summary

Lakeside Controls is seeking an Application Engineer – Intermediate to work with customers on measurement and instrumentation needs in Mississauga. You will recommend suitable technologies, prepare proposals, and support orders from quotation to shipment.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical or chemical engineering background with 4+ years in application engineering or inside sales, plus strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills, and a customer-centric approach.

Qualifications

• University undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Technologist Diploma in an Engineering discipline

Responsibilities

• Understand customer measurement requirements and recommend suitable technologies and products

• Regular use of CRM software to track sales activities

What you will be doing in the role of Application Engineering – Intermediate:

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Working with customers to understand their measurement and instrumentation requirements, including making recommendations on the most suitable flow, pressure, level, temperature, and analytical measurement technologies and products.
• Providing written quotations and proposals to customers based on equipment or services selected
• Performing necessary performance calculations and analysis, troubleshooting processes or product-related issues
• Ensuring proper execution of an order from quotation to final shipment
• Regular follow-up with customers to maximize conversion rate
• Regular use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to track sales activities
• Build strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities during technical discussions.
• Act as a technical liaison to customers via face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and email correspondence.
• Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute strategies that drive bookings growth.

Other Duties
