Position Description

• This is a 16 week Co-Op position.
• The Application Developer APEX will work closely with Business Analysts to evaluate user requirements for new or modified reports and accurately convert the specification provided into high quality reports.
• Periodically review status of assigned tasks, consult with business experts and peers and provide regular status reports to manager.
• Perform the full range of programming, testing and debugging.
• Write units tests, functional test and developer integration tests.
• Design, develop, test and deploy and implement robust, resilient and secure code with following industry approved coding practices from frameworks including OWASP, NIST, SDLC and PCI DSS.
• Follow change control processes and adhere to internal policies and procedures.
• Track, and record, daily activities. Provide weekly reports.
• Use internal applications to complete development assignments such as Microsoft Outlook, JIRA and Microsoft Word.
• Assist with resolving production problems and user calls.
• Collaborate with other application development team members.
• Carry out special projects as assigned.
• Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices / conditions.

Position Requirements

• Post-secondary education in computer programming or computer science from University or recognized College.
• Knowledge of Oracle APEX and / or experience with Oracle SQL.
• Some knowledge of financial and business processes.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Experience with the software development life cycle and source control tools.
• Knowledge of, or experience in, Visual Basic .NET programming language, Oracle SQL and MS SQL Server.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and are eager to learn and grow.
• Knowledge of, or experience in, Microsoft Outlook, JIRA and Microsoft Word would be an asset.
