Job Description

Live Assets | IT Staffing Solutions is hiring an Application Architect for one of its clients to develop the architecture and support the implementation of one or more tools that are part of an integrated platform.

Key Responsibilities

1. Work closely with various internal stakeholders including analysts, business subject matter experts and architects to gather their input on architecture of an integrated tooling solution.
2. Review and understand existing high-level requirements.
3. Create conceptual, logical and physical application architecture for the platform in AWS Cloud environment.
4. Create Tooling roadmap and transitional architectures.
5. Support data architects on evolution and adoption of the Healthcare Reference Standard Semantic Logical Data Model (currently 900 data elements and expanding).
6. Strong aptitude for abstract information design and for navigating ambiguity in the healthcare system.
7. Conduct environmental scan of current health landscape to determine future tooling architecture (e.g. FHIR, HL7 RIM, SNOMED CT, LOINC, PS-CA, USCDI, OMOP, ISO-13940, ISO-11179 etc.).
8. Develop solution-architecture for integration of multiple products and technologies.
9. Support the implementation of the solutions, working with various ITS teams.
10. Hands-on experience and ability to produce Proof of Concepts for vendor products and Open Sources tools such as Mauro Data Mapper, Konveio, Informatica.
11. Document, communicate, and disseminate architecture artifacts to both business and technical audiences.
12. Identify risks and work with the project team to develop mitigation plans.
13. Respond to requests and evaluate recommended approaches from an application architecture perspective.
14. Assist in tactical planning for further development, as required.
15. Collaborate with technical resources on development, testing and promotion of the tooling solution.

Necessary Skills

1. 7+ years of experience in application and solution architectures.
2. 7+ years of experience as an Application Architect in software engineering projects with an integration intensive focus on integrations from solution inception to implementation.
3. Strong Python and JavaScript (or similar) hands-on proven experience.
4. Demonstrated experience with Web design and implementation.
5. Demonstrated experience with general AWS Cloud Architectures.
6. Extensive experience in the development of reference architectures for medium or large organizations, preferably in the healthcare domain.
7. Analysis and Design skills; excellent understanding of Web standards, accessibility standards (AODA), distributed and cloud computing concepts, RESTful web services, and usage of common design patterns, etc.

Nice to Have

1. Experience with business vision, strategy and roadmaps.
2. Knowledge of TOGAF, Zachman or other architecture frameworks.
3. Experience working with SPARX Enterprise Architect tool.
