Job Description

Whirlpool Canada is seeking a candidate for the role of Appliance Technician in Ottawa/Gatineau, Montreal, and Quebec City. This role will deliver exceptional consumer experience in customers' homes, including performing technical diagnosis, repair, and installation of kitchen and laundry appliances.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose concerns by interpreting customer observations and determining proper solutions or repairs.
• Maintain appliances by disassembling, cleaning internal parts, replacing faulty or worn parts, reassembling, and testing.
• Ensure installations that require connections to water, electrical, or gas lines are completed correctly and in accordance with product installation instructions.
• Use business management software to manage service calls.
• Follow company processes as per service Standard Operating Procedures.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills in English and French.
• A valid driver’s license with a good driving record, physically fit with the ability to lift upwards of 55lbs.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience in the appliance repair field or other service industry.

Preferred Skills and Experiences

• Appliance Service Technician Red Seal Certificate (or in process of acquiring/registering as a journeyman apprentice).
• Formal technical training in appliance repair.
• Knowledgeable and comfortable using tablet/laptop computers.
• Familiarity with mobile technology and applications.
• Adaptable to change with strong communication, teamwork, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Comfortable with Google Software and Applications (Google sheets, docs, slides) or equivalent.
• Highly developed organizational and customer service skills.
• Results-driven with proven trouble-shooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and complete items including blueprints, electrical schematics, operating and maintenance manuals, and other technical documents.
