Duties

The Disability Management Advisor works with a highly qualified multidisciplinary team to perform, but is not limited to, the following duties :

  • Oversee the case management of members on disability and / or requiring medical accommodation in the workplace, through a combination of direct involvement and the supervision of a Disability Management Coordinator (AS-02);
  • Provide informational and consultative presentations to detachments and other operational sectors in “C” Division;
  • Work with the Occupational Health and Safety Services team in managing complex files in compliance with organizational policies and procedures;
  • Reporting to the manager of Occupational Health and Safety Services, work with defined objectives in case management outcomes and organizational consultation;
  • Prepare routine statistical reports on disability management.

EDUCATION :

A degree in social sciences or health sciences OR an acceptable combination of education, training and / or experience in the field of disability management.

EXPERIENCE : Recent

  • and significant
  • experience in the management of files in at least two of the following programs within the public or private sector : health and safety program, return-to-work program or disability management program.

Recent

  • and significant
  • experience of the formulation of advice to managers (at all levels) and employees on the application of legislation and policies related to the health and safety program, return-to-work program and / or disability management program.

Recent

  • and significant
  • experience in the preparation of presentations, briefing notes and / or reports for senior management.

Experience conducting research, analyzing and providing recommendations.

Experience in organizing, preparing and facilitating meetings.

  • A “recent” experience is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
  • A “significant” experience is defined as experience acquired over a period of approximately one (1) year.
