Under the direction of the Director of Annual Campaigns, the Annual Campaigns Manager will primarily be responsible for planning, executing, and managing a comprehensive annual giving program. This position is vital to placing HSMO at the forefront of a diverse audience of donors and donor prospects through direct mail, giving days and digital communications.

What you will do:

  • Manage the Development Communications Calendar with deadlines for all steps in each on-going campaign, whether it’s direct mail, digital, a Giving Day campaign or Leadership Circle campaign.
  • Manage direct mail, digital fundraising, monthly sustainer, giving day and leadership circle campaigns by working with creative vendors, our Marketing Department, or printers, ensuring that deadlines are met at each stage of these projects.
  • Coordinate with other departments to acquire pictures or videos to support fundraising stories, or other documentation such as press releases or rescue and rehabilitation costs.
  • Maintain details about individual animals used in fundraising stories.
  • Work with the Leadership Giving Team to manage the biannual Leadership Circle donor benefits program by finalizing promotional assets, member lists, routing letters for approval, and scheduling tours or lunches.
  • Track and report progress on each campaign’s metrics and outcomes.
  • Provide exceptional, high-level project management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Two to five years of experience in a fast-paced Development Department managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience working directly with outside vendors and internal departments to manage multi-faceted campaigns.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Docs, is required.
  • Experience working with Mailchimp, Basecamp, Raisers Edge and RE NXT is helpful.
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented, including excellent proofreading skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and is able to pivot when priorities change.
  • Takes initiative and propose new ideas but must also be open to ideas from others.
  • Professional attitude, pleasant demeanor, energetic and enthusiastic.
  • Works well and presents well with co-workers, volunteers, senior staff members, and donors.
