Who We Are
The Thunder Bay & District Humane Society is a 100% not-for-profit established as a corporation in 1994. We do not receive any government funding and rely solely on donations, fundraising, and adoption income. We are dedicated to providing care and shelter to animals in need and advocate for the welfare of animals by building bridges of compassion between people and animals.
We are pleased to share that January 1st, 2026, the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society is joining forces with the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society to combine our organizations. This is a step to strengthen and grow the programs and community support services provided by the TBDHS to help animals and the families who love them.
Opportunity
Position:We are seeking an experiencedAnimal Care Coordinator (ACC)to be the centre lead in ensuring a high standard of care is being provided to our animal residents. ACC’s actively participate in daily rounds and animal care recommendations. They provide training, guidance and direction to both Animal Care Attendants and Program Volunteers. Customer service and related client administrative duties are paramount to the shelter and therefore also vital to the success of this role.
