Job summary

Calgary Humane Society is seeking a Behaviour Outreach Facilitator to support educational, training, and community outreach programs focused on positive reinforcement and animal welfare. You will coordinate classes, manage registrations, and deliver high-quality client service while promoting CHS values.

Responsibilities include reporting, content development, event support, and collaboration with Marketing and Communications.

Qualifications

  • Interest in pursuing a professional training certification (e.g., KPA, CPDT, IAABC, Pet Professional Guild).
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and some statutory holidays.
  • Basic knowledge of animal behaviour and a desire to expand expertise through professional development.
  • Previous professional experience in animal welfare, dog daycare, class coordination, or public relations is an asset.
  • Working toward or willing to pursue professional development or certifications in feline/canine behaviour.
  • Proven experience delivering effective communication and high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate behaviour training classes and consultations, including scheduling, registrations, payments, and client communications.
  • Produce monthly reports summarizing class participation, revenue, and trends for submission to CHS leadership and the Board.
  • Support content development by collaborating with shelter trainers to identify opportunities for new classes and materials.
  • Assist with training duties and support staff with training plans or class delivery.
  • Provide high-quality client service by responding to behaviour inquiries and directing clients to resources.
