Transportation Engineer

We are seeking a Transportation Engineer to contribute to the development of transportation engineering designs, technical reports, and studies, including EA documentation. The role involves designing transportation projects, conducting site investigations, reviewing safe work practices, and preparing contract documentation.

Responsibilities include:

1. Contributing to technical reports and studies supporting transportation designs.
2. Designing transportation projects, including preliminary and detailed design, technical specifications, and calculations.
3. Conducting site investigations and condition assessments.
4. Reviewing safe work practices and performing risk assessments.
5. Preparing contract documentation such as drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
6. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, planners, and environmental scientists.

Business Development:

1. Assisting in preparing estimates and project proposals.
2. Supporting the growth of the Transportation group and developing client relationships.
3. Traveling to client sites and other offices as needed.

Learning and Development:

1. Engaging in ongoing professional development.
2. Mentoring junior staff and participating in professional associations.

Qualifications:

• Degree in civil or transportation engineering or diploma in civil engineering technology.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Ontario.
• 3-8 years of consulting experience.

Experience:

• Knowledge of municipal/provincial standards and industry practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Civil 3D, Microstation, or InRoads is an asset.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
