Job summary

Plano Medical Center in Toronto, ON seeks a board-certified Anesthesiologist to provide safe anesthesia and patient-centered sedation for endoscopic procedures and minor surgeries at our clinic.

You will collaborate with gastroenterologists, surgeons, and nursing staff to deliver high-quality perioperative care in a modern facility with growth potential in the Greater Toronto Area.

Qualifications

• Strong clinical communication and teamwork abilities required.
• Experience with procedural sedation for endoscopy or ambulatory surgery is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Administer general, regional, and procedural sedation for endoscopy suites and minor OR cases.
• Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and develop individualized anesthesia plans.
• Monitor patients throughout procedures and manage post-anesthetic recovery.
• Respond to intraoperative complications and manage airway emergencies.
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists, surgeons, and nursing staff on safety standards and quality improvement.
• Provide acute and chronic pain management consultations as needed.

About The Role

Plano Medical Center is expanding its procedural services and seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Anesthesiologist to join our multidisciplinary team. This position involves administering anesthesia and sedation for endoscopic procedures, minor surgeries, and pain management interventions at our Toronto clinic.

You will work closely with gastroenterologists, surgeons, and nursing staff to deliver safe, efficient perioperative care in a modern, patient‑focused facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an anesthesiologist looking to practise in a collegial, well‑supported environment with strong growth potential across the Greater Toronto Area.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer general, regional, and procedural sedation for endoscopy suites and minor OR cases
• Perform pre‑anesthetic assessments and develop individualized anesthesia plans
• Monitor patients throughout procedures and manage post‑anesthetic recovery
• Respond to intraoperative complications and manage airway emergencies
• Collaborate with the clinical team on sedation protocols, safety standards, and quality improvement
• Provide acute and chronic pain management consultations as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

• MD degree with FRCPC in Anesthesiology (or equivalent international certification)
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Experience in procedural sedation for endoscopy or ambulatory surgery is an asset
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
• Eligible to work in Canada (Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and internationally trained physicians welcome)
