Description

As an Anesthesia Assistant, you will work under licensed anesthesiologists to design and implement anesthesia care plans, utilizing your clinical inquiry and assessment skills to support complex and time-sensitive decisions.

Required Qualifications
  • Successful completion of an accredited postgraduate Anesthesia Assistant Program
  • Active registration with the applicable regulatory body
  • Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) membership with Certified Clinical Anesthesia Assistant (CCAA) designation
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience and expertise in anesthesia specialties such as pediatrics, cardiovascular, or neurology
  • Eligible for Anesthesia Assistant membership with the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society (CAS)
  • Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (BLS, ACLS) certifications
  • Experience with general anesthesia, neuraxial anesthesia, MAC, endoscopy, pre-anesthesia clinics, or interventional labs
  • Two years recent operating room or critical care experience with certifications in intubation, arterial line insertion, and autologous transfusion
  • Experience in at least three of the following services: General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, and others
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, motivation, and the ability to work independently or under supervision
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with general and neuraxial anesthesia, monitored anesthesia care, endoscopy, and interventional radiology
  • Leadership, academic experience, and familiarity with Connect Care and interprofessional teams
