Job summary

Scotiabank in Toronto is seeking a Manager of Data Analytics to design, develop, and produce operational metrics, executive reporting, and management insights across Global Wholesale Operations (GWO). You will work closely with leaders to prioritize analytics, migrate reports to Power BI, and enhance analytical infrastructure.

The role requires strong SQL, Python, Excel, and Power BI skills, plus experience in wholesale banking analytics.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance or STEM preferred.
Wholesale Banking/ Capital Markets analytics experience in operations, finance or risk management in an analytical role.
Experience manipulating, reconciling and analyzing data using SQL, Python and Excel.
Expertise with Power BI is required.
Knowledge of best practice, as well as emerging trends in data visualization.

Responsibilities

Work with GWO SME to understand business needs and transform data into management insights.
Use BI tools (Power BI, SQL, SAS) to access data platforms and publish KPI dashboards and reports.
Consolidate and migrate reports to Power BI for online interactive experiences.
Collaborate with data warehouse and IT teams to enhance analytical infrastructure.
Align insights with GWO strategic initiatives and manage timely delivery.
Champion a customer-focused culture and leverage bank resources and knowledge.
Understand how the bank's risk appetite should influence day-to-day decisions.
