Job summary

Slalom is seeking an Analytics Engineer (Consultant or Senior Consultant) to design and build semantic layers, blending Power BI, Tableau, Sigma with open-source tech for self-service analytics. You’ll lead design sessions translating insights into robust data models and solutions.

You will develop data models with SQL/Python, collaborate with data engineers/scientists, ensure data quality and governance, and stay current with AI/ML trends for modern data architectures.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in SQL and/or Python; experience with semantic layer tools and analytics platforms (e.g., dbt, Looker, Power BI, Tableau, Sigma)
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and analytics solution design
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Fluency in white-boarding and design solutions for data mapping and user experience requirements
• Exposure to or interest in AI/ML integration and modern data architectures
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Hybrid/In office: We are hybrid but there are expectations that if your team leader or client requires you onsite that you are able to meet those expectations/requirements

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the expected base salary pay ranges for Consultant is $100,000 to $115,000 and for Senior Consultant is $115,000 - $130,000. In addition, there is potential for a 8 - 10% discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation will depend upon individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
