Join The Team: ERCO Worldwide is looking for a motivated individual with a penchant for and aptitude in analytical chemistry to join our Research and Development team! This entry-level role of Technologist (Analytical) will report into the Analytical Services Supervisor and will be responsible for applying general technical knowledge and skills primarily by performing routine laboratory analyses in support of customers, all production sites and internal R&D projects as well as executing assigned duties to maintain the operational readiness of R&D.

The Role:

  • The provision of analytical service by performing assigned analyses is the principal focus of this position. Initially the assigned analyses will be somewhat routine in nature but as experience is garnered and training provided on internal processes and a broader range of the state-of-the-art instrumentation available in R&D the nature of the analyses assigned will become increasingly more challenging. The provision of analytical service will span from receiving/shipping samples to performing analyses to cleaning up work area to assisting in the disposal of processed samples.
  • To maintain the operational readiness of R&D this position will also from time to time be assigned general monitoring activities including but not limited to basic laboratory equipment, components of the water purification (de-ionizer) system and checking the expiration of key reagent/standard chemicals.
  • This position must strictly adhere to all safety initiatives throughout all activities.

The Person:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or Applied Science or as a minimum a College Diploma Technology
  • 0-12 months of experience – new graduates are welcome to apply
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience working in a chemical lab is considered an asset
  • Solid understanding in chemical & laboratory principles (GMP and GLP)
