Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Inbound Supply Chain Logistics, the Senior Analyst in this role actively contributes to the overall efficiency of the supply chain related to the Procurement Operations Department. They are responsible for vendor and carrier inbound performance.
The Senior Analyst examines best practices and standards within and outside the organization to establish benchmarks, collect and analyze process data, and recommend practices and procedures focused on improving inbound logistics. The role involves identifying and proposing new tools, technologies, processes, and KPIs to drive efficiency gains.
The role requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including the National Transport Team, Procurement Planning, Carriers, DC Operations, Suppliers, 3PLs, and Supply Chain Performance to ensure timely delivery and high fill rates at inbound points.
Specific Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Planning, Inventory Optimization, and Supply Chain Performance teams to adjust reordering parameters for better on-time and complete deliveries.
- Lead, analyze, and propose improvements in Procurement Planning processes to enhance reception efficiency and delivery timeliness.
- As a C3-Dock Scheduler expert, train and assist operations and external stakeholders in using the platform for scheduling carrier and supplier appointments, smoothing volume fluctuations.
- Respond promptly to supplier / carrier inquiries via the C3-Infodock email, ensuring issues are properly addressed, resolved, or escalated.
- Analyze incoming activities from order placement to regional DC reception, monitoring fluctuations and supervising priority receptions to mitigate service level impacts.
- Lead, analyze, and measure reception operations at DCs, evaluate risks, and develop sustainable, reproducible, and measurable improvements.
- Establish relationships with logistics teams of carriers and suppliers, develop KPIs, and collaborate on quarterly reviews to evaluate performance.
- Partner with DC Operations to ensure planned inbound activities align with DC capacity.
- Monitor non-compliance incidents among inbound carriers and lead corrective actions with suppliers and local carrier representatives.
- Develop strategies to improve inbound logistics, reception processes, carrier tracking, and supplier acceleration.
- Aggregate insights and analyses, and present to senior management and stakeholders.
- Drive process innovation within the inbound logistics team to meet procurement operation goals.
- Encourage stakeholder collaboration to seek and implement process improvements.
- Leverage expertise in Operations and Transport to lead work without formal management responsibilities.
- Determine mission objectives independently, report risks and issues, and propose mitigation plans.
- Lead, participate in, and support cross-functional inbound logistics projects.
- Participate in '3 in a box' meetings with carriers, suppliers, and the Supplier Performance Team to improve delivery timeliness and adherence to guidelines.
- Preside over meetings, provide recommendations, and facilitate information and data exchange with internal and external stakeholders.
General Responsibilities
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trucking and regional transportation industry trends and conditions.
- Act as a liaison among DCs, carriers, suppliers, and procurement teams to identify improvement opportunities.
- Promote a culture of performance, continuous improvement, and collaboration, aligned with McKesson's values and principles.
- Ensure training and mentoring of team members.
Job Requirements
- 7+ years experience in warehouse or transportation logistics operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
- Certifications like PMP, SCMP, CSCP, or Six Sigma / Lean are advantageous.
