Toronto, Ontario, Canada

37.5 hours/week

Salary Range

$59,500 - $84,000 CAD

This position is eligible for a discretionary variable compensation bonus based on company and individual performance.

Department Overview

The Mainframe Monitoring and Automation team within Mainframe Delivery handles the design, deployment, and support of automation and monitoring functions, including infrastructure tools, applications, message and system alerting, and disaster recovery scripting via GDPS.

Job Responsibilities

This role involves working within the IT Build Analyst I Mainframe MMA team to develop automation solutions, engage in disaster recovery testing, and improve mainframe operations through coding and process optimization.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Motivated self-starter eager to learn and succeed.
  • Experience in mainframe automation coding, with operational background a plus.
  • Strong understanding of IBM z/OS technology.
  • Educational background in IT with specialization in coding, programming, networking, or storage.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and initiative.
  • Understanding of mainframe and UNIX security concepts.
  • Ability to handle off-hours and on-call duties.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with REXX, Netview, Pipes programming languages.
  • Knowledge of Netview/System Automation and GDPS.
  • Knowledge of mainframe maintenance solutions like SMPE.
  • Familiarity with TSO, ISPF, SDSF environments.
