About the Role

Plusgrade is seeking a Risk & Payments Data Analyst to join our Risk and Payments team in a permanent role. We are looking for a detail-oriented, enthusiastic individual with a passion for problem solving, dashboard creation, report building, and analysis. The successful candidate will review, develop, and enhance reports used by the risk team and provide insights and recommendations based on analysis of various data sources.

Responsibilities

• Understand stakeholder needs and translate them into reporting deliverables and actionable insights.
• Support fraud trend evaluation, investigate root causes of losses, and develop solutions and strategies.
• Assist in data-driven decision-making processes.
• Analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, including fraud and gaming activity.
• Ensure data and report accuracy, integrity, and security.
• Use tools like Tableau, Dataiku, Alteryx, and Excel to manipulate data and create reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Continuously evaluate business needs, identify gaps, and recommend process improvements.
• Proactively seek automation opportunities and process enhancements.
• Collaborate with teams and vendors to resolve operational and technical issues promptly.

Qualifications

• University/College degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of analytical and problem-solving experience with strong data interpretation skills.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with data visualization tools, preferably Tableau.
• Experience with data preparation tools like Alteryx and Dataiku is a plus.
• Excellent Excel skills (PivotTables, V-Lookups, macros, dashboards).
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines, work independently and in teams, and handle multiple priorities under pressure.
• Experience with Tableau Cloud and user access management.
• Knowledge of AI, machine learning, and predictive modeling is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with fraud tools like Kount.
• Experience with version control systems like GitHub.
