Job description

Harris is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical M&A Research Analyst to support our M&Ateam in identifying and evaluating acquisition opportunities within the vertical market software (VMS) sector. This role is integral to driving strategic growth by leveraging data-driven insights into source, research, and prioritize target companies. The ideal candidate will be inherently self-motivated, a self-starter, a problem solver with a passion for research, data analysis, and an ability to turn a large amount of data into meaningful and actionable information for the M&A group.

What your impact will be :

  • Conduct in-depth research to identify and pre-qualify VMS (Vertical Market Software) companies that align with our strategic acquisition criteria.
  • Navigate, analyze, interpret and mine our large Salesforce database of prospects for the creation of reports, metrics, KPI’s, and dashboards.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive datasets on potential acquisition targets.
  • Provide valuable market insights, industry trends, and competitive analysis to support business development activities.
  • Oversee the health of the portfolio’s pipeline and work with the greater M&A team to ensure adequate prospective activity.
  • Create detailed profiles and actionable insights for prioritized targets.
  • Special projects & ad hoc reporting as required (financial analysis, financial modelling to support M&A and our business units).

What we are looking for :

  • Demonstrable experience in reporting, data and / or business analysis with an aptitude for creating meaningful insight.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel coupled with excellent analytical skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM is an asset.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a rapidly changing business environment.
  • Initiative to work autonomously.
