Under the supervision of the Manager of Inventory & Customer Service Operations, the Senior Business Analyst – SAP (SBA) is responsible for overseeing the support of various SAP modules and related business functions, including Inventory Planning, Customer Service, Distribution Center Operations, Transport, Finance, Contracts, and Sales. The SBA ensures the seamless exchange and flow of business data with internal partners and external clients. Additionally, the SBA conducts system improvement analysis, testing, and implementation. The role also involves coordinating business requirement development and changes with the Global IT team to ensure effective integration and support across the Canadian organization.
Core job responsibilities:
- Engage directly with business users, subject matter experts (SMEs), and Global IT application teams to swiftly resolve daily system issues, ensuring minimal disruption to critical business functions such as Customer Service, Planning, Logistics, and Finance.
- Identify and propose business requirements for system modifications, including changes and enhancements to address gaps in existing processes.
- Evaluate the global SAP template to determine its suitability for new business requirements and assess the potential impact of changes on other regions or divisions.
- Develop business requirements and solutions into documentation and technical specifications for system changes to be approved by Global Process Owners (GPO).
- Lead system changes review meeting, involving Global IT team and SMEs. Provide detailed project requests to the business and track project progress.
- Serve as the intermediary between the support team and business stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Responsible for testing the business cases to ensure they meet requirements. This also includes providing functional specifications to the business based on testing results and documentation.
- Ensure continuous EDI data flow, by monitoring transactions and correcting any problematic situations avoiding business continuity issues. Perform root cause analysis for EDI problems and document solutions based on business processes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to collect customized specifications from external clients, either directly or through their service providers, and implement these requirements in SAP system to enhance customer satisfaction and ensure timely delivery.
- Adjust EDI mapping following Customer and Business partners change requirements and lead onboarding of new external or internal business partner.
- The incumbent must be able to communicate well in English (80% of the time), as his or her duties require interaction with stakeholders and colleagues outside Quebec and Canada.
Requirements:
- At least 7 years of relevant experience with SAP ECC functionalities and system architecture.
- University degree in IT or in related discipline.
- Strong technical expertise and understanding of SAP technology including S/4HANA and ECC.
- Analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of business processes and requirements.
- Strong knowledge of current MS Office software, including Excel.
- Strong prioritization and organization skills with the ability to multi-task and balance priorities.
- Ability to lead cross-functional business requirement review.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
