Job Summary

The Senior Accounting Analyst will be responsible for developing financial analyses and participating in the accounting cycle related to customer margins for the Pharmaceutical Distribution and Operations business unit.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and enhancement of decision support systems, specifically managing the margins analytics process to support broad-based decision-making by senior leaders across all customers and product categories.
  • Actively participate in the accounting cycle, including month-end entries, preparing reporting packages, account reconciliations, and addressing customer inquiries.
  • Prepare and lead parts of the financial analysis process, including creating financial business cases and documenting assumptions.
  • Perform value-added analyses and provide decision support by identifying and communicating trends and emerging developments in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the VP Finance of Pharmaceutical Distribution and Operations on financial planning, budgeting, dashboards, benchmark analyses, and presentations.
  • Present and manage risks and opportunities, providing proactive recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Contribute to special projects such as SAP improvements, Power BI implementation, and process improvements.
  • Work with internal auditors on SOX compliance by providing necessary analyses and reconciliations.
  • Respond to information and process requests from internal stakeholders.
  • Perform various ad hoc analyses and fulfill other related requests.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a major in Finance or Accounting; CPA designation or in progress.
  • 3-6 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Highly proficient in data analytics, integrated information systems, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Expertise in business case analysis and financial modeling, with the ability to develop complex financial models.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with a keen sense of urgency.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines in a dynamic environment; strategic, proactive, and flexible in approach.
  • Experience working cross-functionally and with senior management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English and French.
  • Proficient in MS Excel; SAP COPA or other ERP experience is an asset.
