Job summary

Canadian Tire Corporation, Limited is seeking a Vendor Standards Analyst to maintain and update vendor standards, policies, and supporting docs for domestic and import vendors. You will drive compliance across packaging, labeling, documentation, and shipping practices.

You\'ll analyze vendor performance, develop scorecards and KPIs, and partner with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, and vendors to resolve issues and improve flow of goods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of vendor standards, supplier performance, vendor compliance, supply chain, transportation, logistics, retail operations, finance operations, or business analytics.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Power BI, SQL or Oracle databases are assets.
  • Knowledge of EDI, ASN, PO routing, transportation and inbound shipment compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update vendor standards manuals, policies, and docs for domestic and import vendors.
  • Monitor and analyze vendor compliance across packaging, labelling, ticketing, documentation accuracy, routing, transportation, ASN compliance, shipment quality, and policy adherence.
  • Develop vendor performance reporting, scorecards, and KPI insights to identify trends and root causes.
  • Support vendor accountability through compliance tracking, standards reviews, and chargeback processes.
  • Review and investigate vendor inquiries and disputes using data and policy requirements; communicate outcomes clearly.
  • Partner with Merchandising, Supply Chain Operations, Transportation, Distribution Centres, Finance, IT, vendors to resolve compliance issues and improve flow of goods.
  • Participate in vendor performance discussions with Merchandising and vendor partners, highlighting opportunities and corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve vendor standards processes across brands and enterprise practices.
  • Pull, validate, and summarize ad hoc data related to vendors, purchase orders, penalties, shipment performance, and inquiries.

Job description

What You'll Do:
  • Maintain and update vendor standards manuals, policies, and supporting documentation for domestic and import vendors; communicate updates clearly and support alignment across banners where common standards and processes can be established.
  • Monitor and analyze vendor compliance across key operational standards, including packaging, labelling, ticketing, documentation accuracy, routing, transportation requirements, ASN compliance, shipment quality, and overall policy adherence.
  • Develop vendor performance reporting, scorecards, and KPI insights to identify trends, root causes, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve vendor execution.
  • Support vendor accountability through compliance tracking, standards reviews, issue follow-up, and consistent application of vendor policies and chargeback processes.
  • Review and investigate vendor inquiries and disputes using available data, policy requirements, and supporting documentation; communicate outcomes clearly to vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with Merchandising, Supply Chain Operations, Transportation, Distribution Centres, Finance, Accounting, IT, third-party service providers, and vendors to resolve compliance issues and improve the flow of goods.
  • Participate in vendor performance discussions with Merchandising and vendor partners, highlighting compliance opportunities, successes, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve vendor standards processes, reporting, and governance across Mark's, FGL, and broader enterprise practices.
  • Pull, validate, and summarize ad hoc data related to vendors, purchase orders, compliance penalties, shipment performance, and vendor inquiries as required.
What You'll have:
  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Finance, Engineering, Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • 2-5 years of experience in vendor standards, supplier performance, vendor compliance, supply chain, transportation, logistics, retail operations, finance operations, or business analytics.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret operational data, identify trends, determine root causes, and recommend practical improvements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUPs, data analysis, and reporting; experience with Power BI, SQL, Oracle databases, or other reporting tools is considered an asset.
  • Functional understanding of EDI, ASN, purchase order, routing, transportation and inbound shipment compliance processes.
  • Experience interpreting policies, applying standards consistently, and supporting vendor inquiries, chargebacks, disputes, or compliance reviews.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and third-party service providers.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced, operational environment.
  • Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset, strong ownership, and a track record of delivering results through collaboration and execution.
  • Knowledge of JDA Portfolio Merchandise Management (PMM), vendor portals, supply chain compliance tools, or supplier performance platforms is considered an asset.
