What is the opportunity?

The role is part of North American Business and Client Services that supports US Fixed Income settlements for the RBC Capital Markets. The US Securities Settlements Analyst is responsible for processing daily trade transactions in compliance with regulatory guidelines and market best practices in the US Fed Market. The role ensures appropriate controls are in place to minimize operational risk while delivering a seamless client experience.

What will you do?

  • Process the settlements of US Fixed Income Securities and handle all trade exceptions on a timely basis

  • Reconcile cash and position breaks related to settlements

  • Work constructively with teams across multiple business entities in a fast paced environment

  • Aid in managing volumes and organizing workflow

  • Remain up to date on a number of desks so as to be able to back fill throughout the year

  • Posses good knowledge of the products and systems required to accomplish daily responsibilities (BDC, Nexen, APEX, ICI IMPACT, RIMMS)

  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, standards and guidelines instructions and ensures processes and controls are in place to minimize operations risk

  • On an ongoing basis will assist Manager, US Securities Settlements with any ad hoc requirements / tasks

What you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and to solve problems using knowledge and experience

  • Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel

Nice to have:

  • Good working knowledge of internal trading, account and settlement systems including: BDC, APEX, ICI Impact, RIMMS

  • CSC - Canadian Securities Course
