We are seeking an Analyst, Trade Support in our Toronto or Vancouver office to support multiple business lines in post trade execution and operational processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with good knowledge of financial instruments, a service-oriented mindset, and a keen attention to detail.



Responsibilities will include:



  • Using leading systems to ensure a smooth operation of the post-trade process

  • Support the entire post-trade process, including equity, fixed income, and various other asset settlements, across multiple markets

  • Maintaining systems and data

  • Reconcile cash balances, holdings, and units on a daily basis

  • Communicate with custodians, portfolio managers, traders, and key personnel across PenderFund to investigate and resolve settlement and reconciliation discrepancies

  • Responding to various ad hoc queries from custodians, and other key personnel

  • Communicating critical portfolio information, ensuring the flow of sensitive information with key stakeholders

  • Set up for new accounts and products in relevant internal systems and with third party brokers

  • Maintain and contribute to the development, implementation, and testing of process improvements to enhance data quality, strengthen controls, and maximize efficiency while minimizing risk

  • Supporting Corporate Actions including gathering info, soliciting and submitting PM instructions, and monitoring ongoing events for changes

  • Supporting Proxy Voting including gathering info, soliciting and submitting PM instructions, and monitoring results as required

  • Providing project, research, and analytics support as required by PMs



Qualifications and experience:



  • A diploma or undergraduate degree in business, administration, finance, accounting, or a related field

  • 1 to 2 years trade operations experience in investment management or a related field

  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy while meeting deadlines and working under pressure

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Outlook), with intermediate excel skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as to work efficiently independently

  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks within multiple, competing deadlines



Considered an asset:



  • Completion of the Canadian Securities course

  • Working towards completion of the CFA

We are sharing that the estimated salary range for this position is $55,000 - $70,000 per year. In determining final salary, Pender considers many factors including the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, job responsibilities, market conditions, position location and internal equity. Our aim is to ensure fair compensation practices that align with industry standards while acknowledging the unique value and expertise each individual brings to the role. The final base salary for the offer will be presented as part of a competitive compensation package.
