BCI is seeking a Trade Management professional to oversee settlement processes for transactions in various markets. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONInvestment Operations (IO) is comprised of four branches: Cash, Derivatives & Collateral, Trade Management and Business Solutions. The department delivers core capabilities in areas including trade settlements, corporate actions, derivatives, collateral management, foreign exchange, and cash services, while collaborating with internal partners to design and coordinate end-to-end solutions and providing leadership for the custodian relationship.
THE OPPORTUNITYBCI is a global investment manager headquartered in Victoria, BC. Our Trade Management team ensures every transaction—from equities to bonds—settles accurately and efficiently. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with financial technology, manage critical settlement processes, and act as a key link between teams. WHAT YOU BRINGPost-secondary education in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
2–5 years’ experience at a financial institution
Knowledge of securities, markets, settlements, and corporate actions
Strong technical aptitude for system maintenance and troubleshooting
Excellent communication skills with diverse stakeholders
Service-oriented mindset with the ability to meet critical deadlines
Familiarity with trade lifecycle and post-trade operations
A proactive approach to identifying and improving processes
Preferred: Completion of the Canadian Securities Course or CFA Investment Foundations Program
WHAT YOU WILL DOManage trade matching, settlement, and reconciliation processes
Research corporate actions with custodians and portfolio managers
Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolutions
Ensure SOC1 compliance and follow risk protocols
Maintain KPIs and performance metrics
Support business plan execution and drive process improvements
Share knowledge and contribute to a collaborative team environment
The Trade Management team ensures accurate trade settlements, manages corporate actions, and coordinates with internal teams and external partners to maintain data integrity and streamline the trade lifecycle.
WHERE YOU WILL WORKThis role is based in our downtown Victoria office. BCI is an in-person, collaborative organization with the flexibility to work remotely one day per week.
SALARY RANGEBCI offers a competitive total rewards package which includes a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan and paid time off.
The annualized base salary range for this Victoria-based role is CAD $ 77 ,000 to $ 93 ,000.
The base salary offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration to internal equity.
We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we compete for talent and with consideration to internal equity and job structure. We aim for actual pay to be around the median of the market for target or expected levels of performance, and around the upper quartile of the market for excellent performance.
Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors , including, but not limited to, experience and expertise .
