What You’ll Be Doing
The Analyst, Equity Markets Trade Control is accountable for providing day-to-day support for globally based trading in Equity Markets products within Capital Markets. You will ensure that all transactions advised by the Front Office are completely and accurately booked into the requisite applications. Additionally, you will independently confirm and verify direct external transactions in accordance with industry best practices. Monitoring all trading activities and investigating any discrepancies related to trading will be part of your responsibilities, and you will advise on any new business as required.
You will take ownership of several key functions, including reconciling trader inventories, exchange and depository trades, intercompany accounts, and foreign exchange. You will also liaise with clients to ensure timely trade settlement and collaborate with business operations, traders, back office, and clients in the event that a buy-in is necessary to resolve any fails, including clearing cash or security balances in RAP/DAP accounts beyond regular settlement timeframes. Additionally, you will run daily reports associated with the Trade Control group as part of the group's control processes and support the business management group with ad hoc requests and projects as needed.

How You’ll Succeed
Trade Verification and Reconciliation: You will verify all trade details against blotters, broker confirmations, external trading platforms, trade tickets, and trader files, in accordance with established daily control procedures designed to detect errors and omissions in trade capture. Additionally, you will reconcile trades between internal and external systems.
Business Acumen and Focus: You will maintain a high level of knowledge about Capital Markets business products while collaborating with your peers to deliver timely results for various stakeholders. You will also demonstrate focused attention to detail when reviewing trade information in booking systems, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all aspects of your work.
Reporting and Records Management: You will be responsible for daily reporting associated with the Trade Control group as part of the group's overall control framework. In this position, you will need to adopt an organized approach to record-keeping of daily controls to ensure compliance for audit purposes.
Who You Are
You have an undergraduate university degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance.
You have 1 - 3 years of relevant experience working in a fast-paced environment and delivering results. Previous experience in Capital Markets or working in the financial services industry is an asset.
You have the business acumen and knowledge of equity products - operational and settlement practices of stocks and options.
You have the technical knowledge. You bring intermediate Excel knowledge, specifically for reconciling datasets from different sources.
You have experience working in a financial institution and have a strong understanding of the division of major departments in a bank and the flow of information.
You are an effective communicator. You bring strong verbal communication skills that enable you to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including back office, investigations officers, traders, marketers and middle office.
You excel at finding solutions. You bring solid problem solving, analytical thinking and ability to use initiative while responding to non-routine queries.
You are passionate about people. Effective interpersonal skills, including good teamwork and relationship building.
You know the details matter. Confident and thorough, using good judgment, decision making and attention to detail.
You can demonstrate experience in various systems. Knowledge of Broadridge, Fidessa, CTM, CDS, DTC, and SSCNet is an asset.
