Job description

We are looking for a System Developer to join our Vancouver-based Information Systems team. As passionate IT people, we are faced with complex problems that are ideally solved with technology. Applying technology to support and manage a variety of business application systems as well as systems hardware infrastructure is critical to our firm's continued success. You'll be joining a friendly, collaborative, tight-knit group that works together to effectively apply technology to investment problems. What You Will Do

You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting business applications, as well as owning the entire systems development life cycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with various business user groups to solve & design business problems and improve efficiencies.
  • Work with other developers, managers, and product owners to design, plan, and implement solutions.
  • Ensure multiple critical systems run smoothly through enhancements and operational support.
  • Keep up to date on new technology and industry best practices and how we can apply them within the team.
  • Support user acceptance testing and end-user support as required.
  • Daily use of Microsoft technologies, including .NET, Angular, MS SQL, and SSRS.

What You Bring

  • Experience: You have a minimum of 2+ years’ experience working in a software development role. You understand SDLC and how to apply them in different working environments.
  • Knowledge: You have an Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or similar. Experience working in an institutional investment firm is an asset.
  • Tech Savvy: You are proficient using .NET, Angular, MS SQL, and cloud technology (e.g. Azure) with SOLID principles in mind. You are open to learning new technology and applying them under various system and business constraints.
  • Analytic & Strategic: You possess an analytical mind, enjoy solving problems, and have an ability to perform deep thoughtful analysis to discover solutions.
  • Operational Excellence: You have an approach and track record in achieving operational excellence where personal drive, high-quality work, and getting things done are critical success factors.
  • Collaborative Communication: You have a collaborative spirit that helps you work well with others and communicate effectively.

The starting salary for this position is $80,000. The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation of this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
