What you'll be doing
The Analyst, Sustainable Investments will serve as an important member of our sustainable investments team. Reporting to the Head Executive Director & Head, Sustainable Investments, you will support investment teams in conducting sustainability analysis and advancing active ownership across portfolios.
How you'll succeed
Team engagement - Support investment teams with sustainability assessments and advance integration across portfolios. Contribute to active ownership priorities for the organization.
Team collaboration - Collaborate across the sustainable investment, investment, client portfolio management and product teams to support CIBC Global Asset Management's sustainable investing activities.
Research work - Conduct sustainability research to build internal expertise related to sector, market and macro themes. Contribute to industry commentary on sustainability topics and thematic research.
Client engagement - Contribute to client communication on sustainability related topics, research and industry developments.
Reporting - Integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting. Contribute to further development of engagement tracking and stewardship reporting framework. Maintain internal databases and various reports.
Who you are
You look beyond the moment. You are knowledgeable and can demonstrate understanding of sustainable investing practices and emerging trends, including integration into investment decision making, impact investing, engagement, sustainability reporting including International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and Taskforce for Climate related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). You show appreciation of how investment returns are impacted by sustainability challenges.
You have a post-graduate education in sustainability related fields.
You’re an industry expert. Undergraduate degree with 3 to 5 years relevant experience in investment management, sustainability, research or consulting.
You’re a certified professional. Completion or pursuit of CFA designation is considered an asset.
Highly driven and intellectually curious. You will collaborate within a team culture while also able to work independently and have effective time management skills. You have a passion for sustainable investing, financial markets and investment management.
Your influence makes an impact. You have strong communication skills both written and verbal, effective to influencing colleagues.
You give meaning to data. You have the ability to process and understand large amounts of data, explain and resolve complex issues; strong problem-solving and reasoning skills; strong research and analytical skills.
Attention to detail. You have a strong sense of responsibility and reliability; thorough and results oriented.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently in a rapidly changing environment. You exude highest personal and professional integrity.
