Analyst, Sustainability

Role Description
The Sustainability Analyst is an integral member of a highly collaborative team, working towards QuadReal’s mandate to be a global sustainability leader. This position will support QuadReal’s sustainability strategy in its key areas: environment, places and leading with integrity.
The Sustainability Analyst will work directly with QuadReal properties to review and analyze their energy and water consumption, with a focus on creating efficiencies and reducing waste. This individual will have a passion for mitigating climate change and a strong desire to support QuadReal on its sustainability journey.
Responsibilities:
- Assist QuadReal properties with setting energy, water and waste targets that drive down tenant costs and improve building performance on green certifications
- Facilitate training sessions to educate property teams on the energy/sustainability management systems
- Monitor and analyze QuadReal’s cloud-based energy software to find opportunities for improvement and produce reports that highlight where additional emphasis and focus is needed
- Support with annual reporting of utilities and GHGs for GRESB, TCFD, SASB
- Support ISO 14001 certification of Environmental Management System
- Coordinate property-level climate resilience assessments for all new acquisitions and develop risk assessments for existing portfolio
- Actively support net zero carbon transition planning and tracking
- Collaborate with other teams for incentive funding across the national portfolio
- Provide overall support for other ad-hoc projects that are identified throughout the year
Experience and Qualifications:
- Two years of relevant experience in sustainability or analytics, along with working knowledge of utility data (energy, water, waste). Experience managing data and processes in an EMS (Energy Management System) is an asset
- Undergraduate degree in a related discipline, such as environmental management, science, or engineering. Specialized coursework in statistics and science is preferred
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word, and other databases
- Ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships and adapt to different communication styles
- Willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment
- Experience creating infographics highly preferred
- Bilingualism is considered an asset
