Job Description

Brookfield Corporation (NYSE / TSX : BN) focuses on deploying its capital on a value basis and compounding it over the long term. This capital is allocated across its three core pillars: asset management, insurance solutions, and its operating businesses.

The Analyst, SPV Operations, will be a key member of Brookfield Reinsurance's growing team and will report to our Manager, SPV Operations. The role involves high interaction with the Vice-President of Investment Operations and other investment team members, supporting the expansion of BNRE's investment portfolio. This position offers a motivated individual a solid foundation and exposure to a progressive and dynamic career within Brookfield Reinsurance. The role is based in our Toronto office at Brookfield Place.

Responsibilities
  1. SPV support and administration, including reconciliation of cash and positions, trade settlement, and lifecycle management across various asset types.
  2. Review waterfall calculations and collaborate with administrators.
  3. Handle treasury functions such as liquidity management, wire transfers, and call-back processes.
  4. Coordinate with external service providers for loan administration processes.
  5. Collaborate with the investment accounting team during month-end close cycles.
  6. Support onboarding and KYC processes with borrowers and trading counterparties.
  7. Review legal documentation, including credit agreements and financial documents.
  8. Work directly with teams in legal, accounting, and investment functions.
  9. Partner with technology services for system integration and process improvements, participating in system implementation projects.
  10. Develop dashboards and regular reports for senior management, portfolio managers, and risk and legal functions, covering compliance, risk, performance, and ad-hoc needs.
  11. Participate in system implementation and process enhancement projects.
  12. Perform various special duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
  1. 2-3 years of experience; CPA, CFA, or CAIA designation preferred.
  2. Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, or relevant fields.
  3. Experience in the insurance sector and knowledge of insurance requirements are assets.
  4. Knowledge of trade lifecycle processes within investment operations, especially for alternative assets, private investments, and fixed income.
  5. Proficiency in settlement and reconciliation processes.
  6. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, VBA; familiarity with other technical software is advantageous.
  7. Meticulous with strong attention to detail.
  8. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to operate independently.
  9. Team-oriented with a commitment to shared success.
  10. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  11. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  12. High ethical standards and integrity.
