We are seeking an Analyst, Risk Control Engineering to join our Montreal office!

As an Analyst, you will support property risk assessments and engineering advisory services, analyzing physical asset risks, synthesizing technical data, and contributing to reports for underwriting and risk mitigation.

You will work with Senior Advisors on site evaluations, loss prevention controls, and client documentation, building a foundation in property risk engineering and fire protection principles.

Your Day as an Analyst, Risk Control Engineering

Risk Assessment & Report Development

  1. Support property risk assessments, including planning, data review, and coordination.
  2. Review facility layouts, fire protection drawings, and process descriptions to identify hazards.
  3. Contribute to risk assessment reports, summarizing construction, occupancy, protection, exposure, and maintenance.
  4. Draft risk improvement recommendations based on standards like NFPA and client expectations.

Client & Insurance Broker Support

  1. Prepare risk summaries highlighting key risk factors and potential loss scenarios.
  2. Track and support the implementation of risk improvement recommendations.
  3. Communicate findings professionally, with clear priorities and next steps.

Project Coordination & Delivery

  1. Collaborate with Senior Advisors on project planning and timelines.
  2. Participate in project updates, maintain task trackers, and ensure timely delivery.
  3. Support data standardization and platform integration.

Practice Support & Continuous Improvement

  1. Help develop and improve risk assessment tools and methodologies.
  2. Research industry risks and standards to support client needs.
  3. Refine service delivery and knowledge-sharing practices.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related.
  • Strong analytical, research, and technical writing skills.
  • Interest in property risk management and insurance support.
  • Bilingual in French and English, with strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with COPE, fire protection concepts, and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits, with good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams; valid driver’s license required.
