Job summary

AGF is seeking an Analyst to support its investment products and enhance business development efforts. The role requires expertise in product knowledge and research, alongside strong analytical and communication skills. Ideal candidates will have a degree in finance or a related field and prior experience in the asset management industry.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in asset management preferred.
  • Experience with mutual funds and retail investment products advantageous.
  • Working toward relevant industry certifications (CFA, CIM, etc.) is a plus.

About the Role:
Reporting directly to the AVP, Product Strategy, the Analyst will support AGF Investments’ (AGFI) breadth of products with a goal of accelerating the achievement of client and business objectives. The Analyst will be responsible for subject matter expertise on AGFI’s products to deliver timely and insightful product related support to business development activities as well as playing an active role in product initiative research and analysis.

Your Responsibilities:
Product Management:

Develop an in-depth knowledge of AGF’s suite of investment offerings across all vehicle types and asset classes to support business development

  • Assist various internal business partners by sourcing product information and analytics
  • Support data and information gathering for various requests internally and externally
  • Develop appropriate product reporting and analysis to contribute to marketing positioning and distribution opportunities
  • Prepare illustrations and analytical reports highlighting performance and risk analytics on various investments and portfolios while ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Contribute to the creation of marketing collateral through idea generation and analytical support
  • Support AGF’s distribution partners through creation and circulation of product related insights, commentaries, market updates, and additional value-added materials
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of educational content and training material on AGF’s investment strategies for institutional and retail distribution partners

Initiative Research & Analysis:

  • Support team members in recurring and ad-hoc research efforts and work to develop new insights
  • Analyze, evaluate and report on competitors’ investment offerings, development efforts, and market share
  • Track product evolution and broad investment industry trends
  • Maintain and enhance current reporting, and contribute to the development of new insights and reporting
  • Model and test various product-related concepts such as changes to benchmarks, allocations, and/or fund combinations

Your Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A University degree in business, finance, economics, or field relevant to role
  • Proficient expertise in Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
  • Prior experience related to mutual funds and other retail investment products is an asset
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Working towards accreditations and certifications that reflect knowledge of the investment/asset management industry such as the CSC, CIM, CFA, CAIA, CIFC, etc. an asset
  • Experience with Morningstar Direct, eVestments, Preqin, Salesforce, and other investment and wealth management research tools/services is an asset
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the asset management industry is preferred
  • Motivated self-starter with exceptional planning, attention to detail, and collaboration skills
