Job Information

The Analyst position is based in Yellowknife and reports to the Senior Analyst. The role involves managing the NWT Patient Movement Division Program, focusing on financial analysis, budget evaluation, and performance monitoring. The program handles a transportation revenue and expense budget of approximately $200M. Responsibilities include developing statistical models to analyze healthcare trends, overseeing contracts valued over $50M, and ensuring accurate invoice and expense processing. The Analyst also develops policies to maintain data integrity and authorizes expenditures up to $10,000.

The position requires active participation in program improvements, industry trend analysis, and data management, ensuring the program's efficiency and effectiveness. The role involves safeguarding data accuracy through policy implementation, staff training, and incident response planning, with familiarity in systems such as GNWT financial management system - SAM, Microsoft Excel, HMIS, and others.

The role operates within a legislative and policy framework, adhering to laws like the Health Information Act (HIA), Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (ATIPP), and GNWT regulations, following professional standards such as PSAB and GAAP.

Qualifications

Typically, candidates should have:

1. A bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or similar, with at least two (2) years of experience in a financial or data reporting environment.
2. Equivalent qualifications include a diploma in the same fields with four (4) years of relevant experience.
