Ontario Health’s Patient before Paperwork (Pb4P) team is seeking a motivated and skilled Analyst to support the Pb4P program. This role will focus on a large-scale, provincial digital health initiative aimed at improving primary care across Ontario. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be involved in analyzing healthcare data, conducting statistical research, and developing insights that will support the optimization of health care delivery. Reporting to Manager, Primary and Community-Based Care, and working closely with the Measurement and Evaluation Lead and Project Managers across OH, you will collaborate with stakeholders to create actionable data models, identify trends, and help shape the future of Ontario's healthcare system.

Here is what you will be doing:

• Conduct data analysis, including statistical analysis, data modeling, and visualization, to support Pb4P’s digital health initiatives and inform decision-making.
• Perform advanced statistical analyses using tools such as SQL, SAS, R, and Microsoft Excel, and provide recommendations based on these analyses.
• Develop data models and forecasts to identify trends, patterns, and performance metrics for digital tools in Ontario.
• Build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders to gather, validate and integrate data from diverse sources, ensuring its accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
• Support the design and implementation of quantitative and qualitative evaluations, as well as quality improvement & research methodologies, for large-scale initiatives.
• Create clear, concise, and impactful visualizations and presentations to communicate findings to non-technical audiences.
• Leverage data analysis and visualizations to present data to diverse audiences through compelling narratives.
• Use Microsoft Power BI and other data visualization tools to present insights and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
• Support the development of reports, dashboards, and other knowledge transfer products that summarize research findings and present recommendations.
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders, including clinicians, to review findings and assess the impact of data-driven solutions.
• Track performance metrics, identify risks, and propose solutions to mitigate challenges.
• Maintain project plan and other documentation, and raise and monitor project risks.
• Assist with the preparation and presentation of findings to leadership and external partners.
• Coordinate and facilitate advisory group meetings and ensure effective communication with cross-functional teams.

Here is what you will need to be successful:

Education and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Health Services Research, Epidemiology, or a related field.
• A master’s degree in one of the above disciplines is an asset.
• At minimum 3-4 years of experience in data analysis or research, preferably within healthcare or a related domain.
• Highly Proficient in Microsoft Excel and proficiency with other statistical software (e.g. SAS) and programming languages (e.g. SQL, Python, R) for data analysis, including data cleaning, modeling and visualizations.
• Highly Proficient in Microsoft Power BI and proficiency/familiarity with other data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik).

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge in performance measurement, metrics and reporting.
• Strong experience with large-scale data sets and ability to create data models for forecasting and trend analysis.
• Experience in working with large, complex datasets, including administrative health data, and conducting quantitative research is preferred.
• Knowledge of other Microsoft products (e.g. Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of provincial healthcare databases is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data to diverse audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
