The Toronto-Dominion Bank is seeking a Margin Accounts Group Analyst in Toronto to support counterparty credit risk mitigation through collateral processing and exposure analysis. You will engage with Front Office, Credit Risk, Legal, and Operations while maintaining controls and timely reporting.

Qualificações

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Commerce, Risk Management, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • CFA, FRM, or equivalent professional designation is considered an asset.
  • Relevant capital markets experience in collateral management, counterparty risk, treasury, settlements or derivatives operations is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OTC derivatives, securities financing transactions, CSA/ISDA, or margining concepts is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with industry-standard collateral management applications; proficiency in risk management tools, data analysis, coding, or related software is an asset.

Responsabilidades

  • Monitor daily VM and IM exposures across collateralized portfolios and process collateral calls per CSA terms.
  • Prepare and process margin calls, margin tickets, valuation statements, and collateral movements within established timelines.
  • Investigate collateral disputes, valuation differences, settlement fails, and reconciliations; escalate as needed.
  • Perform daily reconciliations, exposure analysis, control checks, and reporting to identify exceptions and risks.
  • Support risk/control activities including QA, regulatory deliverables, and procedure updates.
  • Act as day-to-day contact for counterparties and internal partners on collateral calls, disputes, and settlements.
  • Collaborate with Front Office, Credit Risk, Legal, Operations, Treasury, Technology and external parties to resolve issues.

Job Description

Department Overview Collateral Risk Management sits within Capital Markets Risk Management (CMRM) which is responsible for the market and credit risk of TD Securities. A global, multi-faceted and cross product team, the primary objective of the Collateral Management department is the mitigation of counterparty credit risk through the active monitoring of clients’ derivative and securities financing portfolios. The department manages collateral for the Toronto, New York, London and Singapore regions. The team has a rare opportunity to support products and businesses ranging from foreign exchange, commodities, credit, equity, interest rates, securities financing, and prime brokerage. The team manages a wide range of complex processes, with members developing skills and competencies around derivative and security products and their respective business areas, legal agreements, technology flows and regulations.

Role Description

The Margin Accounts Group (MAG) Analyst is responsible for supporting the mitigation of counterparty credit risk through the daily management and monitoring of collateral exposures across OTC derivatives. The role focuses on accurate and timely collateral processing, exposure analysis, dispute investigation, stakeholder coordination, and adherence to established controls and procedures. The successful candidate will develop strong collateral management and risk knowledge while working closely with internal partners, including Front Office, Credit Risk, Legal, Treasury, Settlements, Operations, and Technology, as well as external counterparties. The Analyst will elevate material issues appropriately and contribute to the effective operation of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor daily VM and IM exposures across assigned collateralized portfolios and issue or respond to collateral calls in accordance with CSA terms and internal procedures.
  • Prepare and process margin calls, margin tickets, valuation statements, and collateral movements accurately and within established timelines and authority levels.
  • Investigate collateral disputes, valuation differences, settlement fails, and reconciliation breaks; coordinate resolution and elevate material or aged items.
  • Perform daily reconciliations, exposure analysis, control checks, and reporting to identify exceptions, concentration risks, and emerging issues.
  • Support risk and control activities, including quality assurance, operational risk event reporting, business continuity, regulatory deliverables, and procedure updates.
  • Act as a day-to-day contact for counterparties and internal business partners on collateral calls, disputes, settlements, and operational queries.
  • Work collaboratively with Front Office, Credit Risk Management, Legal, Operations, Treasury, Technology, and external counterparties to resolve issues promptly.
  • Provide clear status updates and risk commentary, escalating decisions and complex matters to senior team members as appropriate.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, controls, and client service within daily collateral processes.
  • Participate in process-improvement initiatives, testing, regulatory implementations, and technology upgrades under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Maintain procedures, contribute to automation and reporting enhancements, and support the adoption of new tools and processes.

Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and provide coverage across assigned processes when required. Build technical knowledge of collateral, derivatives, legal agreements, systems, and risk controls through training and practical experience. Demonstrate accountability, attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous learning and a strong risk culture.

Required Experience & Qualifications
