About The Role

We are seeking an Analyst, Investments to join our existing Public Markets team, focused on building a globally diversified portfolio of public equity, fixed income, hedge fund, commodity, and currency investments primarily through fund commitments. Beyond what is typically available within large investment functions, the Analyst will have a stronger impact on CAAT’s Public Markets portfolios, perform a breadth of responsibilities and have exposure to a unique set of career development opportunities.

As The Newest Member Of The Team, You Will

  • Support the end-to-end investment process—from sourcing and screening to due diligence, execution, and legal review—across public equity, fixed income, hedge funds, commodities, and currencies.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses on investment managers, including performance, sensitivity, and correlation assessments.
  • Contribute to investment memos and prepare materials for internal and external meetings,including due diligence sessions.
  • Monitor fund and portfolio performance to ensure alignment with strategy, benchmarks, and risk expectations, and provide timely updates to the Director, Public Markets.
  • Assist with portfolio reporting and analytics for senior leadership and the Investment Committee, and contribute to asset allocation, performance evaluation, and market research.
  • Help manage operational and capital movement tasks, including reviewing manager reports and preparing documentation for fund transfers.
  • Build and maintain strong external relationships to support future fund access and strategic partnerships.
  • Advance CAATs investment practices through process improvements, documentation, and participation in responsible investing initiatives.

To Succeed, You Bring

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an investment setting, preferably at an investment management, consulting, pension fund or equivalent.
  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Engineering or other related disciplines.
  • Pursuing a CFA or any other relevant professional designation would be an asset.
  • Strong quantitative and technical skills with the ability to learn investment software packages (i.e., eVestment, Bloomberg, Caissa, Style Analytics, MSCI HedgePlatform).
  • Working knowledge of due diligence, selection, and the monitoring of external investment managers in public markets would be an asset.
  • Good understanding of investment performance measurement, attribution analysis, and risk measurement.
  • Please note that as part of the recruitment process, shortlisted candidates may be required to take a case study test to evaluate written and technical skills.
