About The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Investment Performance, the Analyst, Investment Performance will be responsible for producing timely, accurate, and meaningful performance reporting for internal and external stakeholders. The role will develop attribution and benchmark analysis, support investment reporting initiatives, and proactively identify opportunities to automate and improve reporting processes. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, a collaborative approach, and will help drive efficiency, transparency, and data integrity across CAAT’s growing investment portfolio.

As The Newest Member Of Our Team, You Will

  • Deliver timely performance reports for the total portfolio and asset classes to various stakeholders, including the investment team and senior leadership.
  • Conduct ongoing data quality and integrity checks across internal systems and third-party platforms (e.g., MSCI, eFront, BNY Mellon) to ensure accuracy and consistency in all performance reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with risk, investment operations, and investment teams to align performance data with broader financial and risk reporting needs.
  • Conduct research in areas such as attribution methodologies, supporting both established and evolving investment strategies.
  • Support benchmarking and attribution analysis, comparing portfolio and asset class results to relevant indices, targets, and peer universes.
  • Develop and automate reporting processes to improve operational efficiency and accuracy, while maintaining clear documentation.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of performance systems and tools, including dashboards and visualization platforms, to drive data accessibility and insights.

To Succeed, You Bring

  • 2-3 years of experience in investment performance or related fields is preferred, ideally within a pension plan, institutional asset manager, or financial services organization.
  • University degree or college diploma in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • A solid understanding of capital markets and financial instruments, including public and private equity, fixed income, real assets (real estate, infrastructure), and alternative investments.
  • Experience with investment reporting platforms and systems such as MSCI, eFront, BNY Mellon, or similar.
  • Experience with automation tools, performance dashboards, or data visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Programming experience (e.g., SQL, Python, VBA) is considered an asset.
  • Enrollment in or completion of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CIPM (Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement) designation is considered an asset.
