Contract Term - 15 Months

In this position, you will work closely with transportation, maintenance, and regional supply chain teams to track assets, improve performance, and reduce costs, all while ensuring the reliable flow of goods that Canadians count on every day.

What you will do:

Asset Management & Allocation

  • Manage and allocate intermodal containers and chassis across Canada to support domestic operations.
  • Ensure availability of assets for loading, reloading, and regional distribution requirements.
  • Monitor and reduce asset detention, dwell time, and underutilization.

Fleet Tracking & Reporting

  • Track and trace intermodal assets, ensuring accurate real-time visibility.
  • Provide reporting and analytics on fleet utilization, asset health, and operational KPIs.
  • Assist in managing exception protocols, including alarms and specific operational call-outs.

Maintenance & Servicing

  • Collaborate with Loblaw’s maintenance teams to ensure preventative maintenance schedules are completed on time.
  • Support the servicing and repair of units to minimize downtime and maximize asset reliability.
  • Monitor maintenance trends and support continuous improvement in fleet performance.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work

  • Work closely with the Domestic Intermodal Operations team, regional planners, and supply chain partners to align asset strategy with business needs.
  • Collaborate with national distribution centres and transportation providers to resolve capacity or equipment challenges.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to leadership for improving efficiency, cost management, and asset utilization.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation, or asset management preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Excel and data visualization/reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of intermodal operations, rail/trucking, and asset management processes is an asset.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across diverse teams.
