SUMMARY

This position oversees shift personnel and facilitates the transfer of finished goods from the warehouse into customer shipments, ensuring quality and accuracy. The role involves developing a culture of continuous improvement in safety, employee engagement, quality, and productivity. The successful candidate will promote and implement safety, HR, quality, and operational policies, and develop, train, and retain top talent.

Salary: up to $70,000 per year

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to:

Health, Safety and Environment

  • Lead by example in safety policies and practices, demonstrating personal commitment to HSE standards
  • Foster an environment of trust, openness, and mutual respect to promote safety performance
  • Communicate safety policies regularly and hold team accountable for adherence
  • Conduct safety observations, identify hazards, and coach employees on safety practices
  • Ensure safe operation of forklifts and machinery
  • Maintain a safe warehouse environment for all staff and equipment
  • Support safety initiatives such as Westlake Life Critical Rules, Safe Start, and STAR
  • Train employees on safety regulations and procedures
  • Respond to injuries, manage cases, and participate in accident investigations
  • Use corrective actions and recognition to promote desired safety behaviors

Warehouse Operations

  • Assist in daily warehouse operations, including inventory management, order picking, and shipping
  • Organize and plan to ensure efficient warehouse flow
  • Serve as the first point of contact for warehouse team members
  • Ensure 100% adherence to quality and accuracy standards
  • Delegate responsibilities and provide direction to team members
  • Participate in decision-making regarding labor planning and warehouse priorities
  • Train and delegate responsibilities to warehouse staff
  • Optimize employee productivity and effectiveness
  • Ensure timely processing of orders and coordinate with carriers for loading
  • Prepare warehouse documentation, including bills of lading
  • Participate in inventory counts
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma required; college or associate degree preferred
  • Minimum two years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM (Straight Night Shift)
  • Forklift certification required
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, etc.)
