Area of Interest: Financial markets and treasury

The Global Securities Finance (GSF) team of National Bank of Canada (NBC) is seeking an Analyst to assist with the pricing, trading, management, and booking of Securities Borrowing and Lending products.

Your Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily management and settlement of Securities Financing trades, including flow and structured trades.
• Collaborate with team members to execute securities financing trades supporting funding, liquidity, and flow activities. Develop reports and processes to manage these structures.
• Coordinate with internal teams on trade, client, and counterparty development.
• Develop and maintain client relationships to support existing business and liaise with market participants on demand and supply.
• Work with Operations to ensure reconciliations, buy-ins, recalls, and returns are handled efficiently.
• Assist in managing operational risks and coordinate with the risk department to mitigate credit risks.
• Support the achievement of the Bank's vision, values, and culture through personal behavior, actions, and decision-making.

Your Team

The GSF team integrates Securities Financing, Repo, and Delta-one products, working closely with NBC's Treasury. The team aims to optimize the bank’s use and availability of collateral, with members located in Toronto, Montreal, New York, London, and Hong Kong.

You will report directly to the Managing Director – Global Securities Finance for Securities Borrowing and Lending in Toronto.

Prerequisites

• CFA designation or studies in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or relevant work experience in another field.
• One to two years of applicable capital markets experience.
• Knowledge of SQL and/or Python.
• Strong problem-solving skills, collaborative approach, and team spirit.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships.
