CIBC’s Global Markets business focuses on delivering expert financial and economic analysis and savvy deal-making capabilities to clients in Canada and around the world. The Global Markets team supports fixed income, foreign exchange, commodities, derivatives, equities, and growth markets, aiming to build a strong, innovative, relationship-oriented bank.

Within CIBC Global Markets, the ASG team specializes in developing innovative, technology-driven capital markets solutions. This group combines the agility and innovative spirit of a FinTech startup with the financial strength and governance protocols of a major financial institution. ASG is recognized as a global leader in providing disruptive technological solutions across various product areas, including Cross Border Payments, Dynamic Currency Conversion, and Foreign Cash white labeling. Our diverse client base includes some of the largest banks in the world, corporations, and CIBC’s retail clients.

We are looking for energetic individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit to help build our cross-border FX business. As an Analyst (Spanish native proficiency), you will work in a fast-paced environment as part of a dynamic, hard-working, execution-focused product team. In this position, you will support our FX cross-border business, including Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) on ATMs, Point of Sale (POS), and eCommerce. The analyst will work in our Latin America (LATAM) region, providing analytical and operational support to our clients. DCC is a service enabled on ATMs and POS terminals that allows foreign cardholders to pay in their home currency, providing transparency on charges. Since its inception, the DCC product team has established partnerships with over 30 financial institutions to enable this white-label solution on over 100,000 ATMs worldwide.

How You'll Succeed
  • Leveraging Analytical Skills - Identify, analyze, and interpret patterns in complex data sets, making recommendations for growth opportunities and initiatives. Monitor and evaluate client performance, conduct quantitative research on industry trends.
  • Supporting our Client Relationships - Work with associates and directors to investigate, analyze, and resolve client issues. Meet with clients (in English and Spanish) to review product performance and initiatives.
  • Supporting our Sales Pipeline - Support the sales cycle by creating presentations, analysis, and providing product expertise.
  • Enhancing our Product and Processes - Seek ways to improve our products and processes, increasing productivity and value to clients.
Who You Are
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, STEM fields.
  • Professional Experience: 3-5 years in a fast-paced environment, ideally within consulting, capital markets, fintech, or product management. Experience in payments, FX, or financial technology is preferred.
  • Analytical and Technical Skills: Highly analytical with proficiency in Excel and Power BI. Able to analyze data, perform quantitative analyses, and translate insights into strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent in English and Spanish (native). Portuguese is an asset. Capable of presenting data and insights to senior executives and creating client-facing materials.
  • Product Management Mindset: Client-focused, results-oriented, able to prioritize and drive product success.
  • Collaborative and Autonomous: Works well independently and in teams, motivated by collective success.
  • Entrepreneurial Drive: Motivated by building and scaling new businesses, comfortable with ambiguity and making decisions with limited information.
