Job Description

Human Resources Services (HRS) is an internal function providing global operations and business support across Brookfield’s lines of business.

As a member of the Compensation Team, the Compensation Analyst, Equity Compensation is responsible for the administration of the executive equity compensation plans, and manages the Shareworks and TSX Trust Company vendor systems across various Brookfield business units. This role involves close collaboration with the Human Resources, Payroll, and Accounting departments to ensure data accuracy and timely deliverables, and excellent customer service.

The analyst will also provide support in managing Brookfield’s broad-based compensation programs. This involves taking part in compensation initiatives, conducting data analysis to provide insights, preparing reports, and providing support for the annual cycle.

Responsibilities:

Equity Compensation Administration:

  1. Administer multiple equity compensation plans for participants globally.
  2. Create and reconcile various reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual cycle.
  3. Partner with stakeholders to validate multi-jurisdictional tax withholdings on payroll-related transactions.
  4. Manage audit and data verification processes for all equity compensation plans.
  5. Manage day-to-day relationships with vendors to ensure a best-in-class experience for employees.
  6. Oversee and prepare participant-wide communications.
  7. Conduct analyses to support payroll validations and accounting inquiries.

Compensation Program Support:

  1. Participate in compensation surveys and conduct benchmarking & market trend analysis using the data from the surveys.
  2. Contribute to maintaining competitively positioned compensation structures and employee positioning through data-driven insights.
  3. Utilize advanced Excel functions and BI tools to assess compensation outcomes, including pay gaps, incentive participation by role and region, and gender pay equity analysis.

Annual Compensation Review Process:

  1. Support the management of the annual year-end compensation process.
  2. Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of technology platforms used for compensation decisions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  1. Strong user knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel (pivot tables and lookups).
  2. Ability to conduct analysis and pull insights from large amounts of data.
  3. Knowledge of Shareworks equity administration system is an asset.
  4. Knowledge in equity compensation plans and related legislation, for both Canada and the US is an asset.
  5. 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  6. University degree preferred (HR, Business Administration, Accounting & Finance).
  7. Knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau, with the ability to create interactive dashboards is an asset.
