Job description

Location: Calgary - Home Office
Suite 300-24244th Street SW

Join our team as an Analyst Corporate Development! In this role, you’ll be collaborating with our Corporate Development Team assisting in the sourcing and analysis of potential acquisition targets to achieve annual KPI’s including acquired EBITDA, Multiple, IRR and related targets. You’ll build strong relationships with internal teams and externally with vendor optometrists and their advisors.

We are ideally seeking a candidate located in Calgary. Our Home Office is located in Calgary and follows a hybrid work model.

What Will You Be Doing?
  • Assisting in the sourcing and analysis of potential acquisition targets
  • Managing and updating the CRM system with accurate data on leads, opportunities, and communications to ensure effective tracking and reporting of business development activities
  • Collaborating with the Business Development team to coordinate targeted outreach campaigns aimed at generating leads for mergers and acquisitions
  • Supporting the management of deal flow during the valuation process, including but not limited to, preparing NDA’s, assisting with due diligence and analysis, drafting offer presentations, and drafting term sheets
  • Performing financial and valuation analysis, including detailed financial modelling
  • Participating in the presentations and offers to the vendors
  • Assisting in tracking the progress and outcomes of past acquisitions to evaluate their success and inform future strategic decisions
  • Proactively identifying and undertaking additional tasks, continuously seeking opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency within the team
As the Successful Candidate You Have:
  • A bachelor’s degree in business or finance
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in an Analyst role (Mergers & Acquisitions experience is an asset)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of financial accounting, capital markets, and valuation concepts
  • Strong research skills, excellent problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills
  • Excellent organization skills, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written)
  • A desire to work towards a professional designation (CPA, CBV, CFA, etc.)
  • Bilingualism (French/English) considered an asset
