Job Description

RBC Global Asset Management (GAM) is a provider of global investment management services and solutions to institutional, high-net-worth and individual investors through separate accounts, pooled funds, mutual funds, hedge funds, exchange-traded funds and specialty investment strategies. In this role, you will report to the Manager, Competitive Intelligence, GAM. Your primary purpose will be to support research activities related to Canadian retail mutual funds and ETFs. What will you do?

  • Support the production of research reports and articles related to firms, products, services and industry developments in the Canadian retail mutual fund industry

  • Respond to questions and requests for information from sales teams – acting as a subject matter expert to help win business

  • Source data from financial reports, industry publications, news articles, websites, regulatory filings, and third-party data providers

  • Maintain and enhance internal datasets used to produce regular reports

  • Develop tools and processes to efficiently fulfill research requirements

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Strong knowledge (ideally 3-5 years of relevant experience) of mutual funds and investment concepts

  • Familiarity with asset management distribution channels (e.g. wholesale, retail, institutional)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills to handle competing projects and service requests

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to support the needs of various sales teams

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Proficiency with MS Excel, VBA, Power Query and Word

Nice to Have

  • Enrollment or completion of CFA program

  • Previous experience with Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg
