About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented full-time Analyst, Cash Management to join our Finance team at our Head Office in downtown Calgary. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and analyzing daily cash flow forecasts, managing daily banking activities, and coordinating electronic funds transfers and short-term debt issuances. You will also handle bank balance and transaction reporting for domestic and foreign activities, generate reports, analyze cash balances, and track changes in the cash general ledger accounts.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and analyze daily cash flow forecasts for TransAlta and subsidiaries.
2. Transmit details of short-term financing and foreign exchange requirements to traders. Initiate inter-company lending transactions.
3. Coordinate approval of large cash transfers domestically and internationally.
4. Support business units by analyzing and verifying banking transaction and balance information.
5. Coordinate electronic funds transfers and liaise with bank and TransAlta representatives.
6. Maintain forecasting and transfer procedures within corporate policy.
7. Maintain internal control/exception reporting around cash management.
8. Coordinate foreign exchange and derivative settlements with treasury back-office.
9. Monitor accounts for returned payments and support vendor bank account changes.
10. Prepare and post journal vouchers for treasury-related transactions.
11. Facilitate internal and external audits.
12. Assist with sensitive payments and cheque deposits/journal entries.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in Cash Management, Treasury, or Banking.
• University degree or college diploma in Finance or Accounting.
• Familiarity with international cash management, short-term debt markets, and FX risk management.
• Experience with SAP, especially in Treasury, Finance, and SEM modules, is a plus.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze situations critically and make informed decisions.
• Ability to work independently and proactively.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced environment.
